Now you know I love a cruise. I love the accommodation – unpack once and enjoy the rest of your stay. I love visiting the ports, deciding what entertainment to watch, and the food is exceptional. Book into a Chef’s Table dinner if they are offered on your cruise – they are great.

I also love the concept of ”Travel CPD” – holding a Nursing Conference on a cruise ship makes great sense as well as a possible tax deduction.

I love to enjoy a cocktail or two after a hard day in the conference room and cruise ships have great cocktail bars and talented bar staff.

One of my favourite cocktails is an Aperol Spritz – see the recipe below.

How to:

  • 50ml Aperol –  a bright orange apéritif
  • 100ml Prosecco – an inexpensive Italian sparkling wine similar to Spanish Cava or French Champagne
  • 30 ml of soda water
  • Squeeze of orange juice
  • Slice of orange

Simply fill a large wine glass with ice, then add Aperol, Prosecco, club soda, a squeeze of orange juice, and a slice of orange.

You can play around with the measures to make it stronger or weaker depending on your taste.

Relaxing and participating in self care strategies is an important part of taking care of yourself.

Please don’t think I’m fostering alcohol abuse as a means of stress management!

But getting together with a group of friends and colleagues at the end of the day with a drink (alcoholic or not) is a lovely way to engage and debrief.

CPD Travel is a fantastic way to combine an exceptional education program with a fabulous destination.

This is an awesome alternative to the more traditional approach to CPD education.

CPD is the means by which members of the Nursing profession maintain, improve and broaden their knowledge, expertise and competence, and develop the personal and professional qualities needed throughout their professional lives.

The world is our oyster! I love CPD Travel! Find out where your CPD can take you>>
