Weekend of Wounds: Unpicking the mysteries of wound management products

29 – 31 October 2021 | Townsville | 15 CPD Hours

Conference Synopsis:


This conference explores the complex area of managing wounds and the different wound types, best practice management, and dressing selection for best healing outcomes. Take part in a range of workshops on dressing product types, developing a wound formulary (recipe on how to stock your dressing cupboard) and managing infected wounds.

Louise Webber

Masters of Nursing Science (Nursing Practioner), BA (Hons), RN

Louise has over 20 years’ experience in wound management established her own Private Practice (Wound Therapies) following completion of her Nurse Practitioner in 2014. She has worked across several public hospitals and Community Nurse Settings both in Australia and overseas.

She works collaboratively with several Aged Care Providers, private hospitals and Community Nursing Services and runs a Specialist wound clinic for a GP Practice north of Brisbane.

Kerrie Coleman

Nurse Practitioner

Kerrie is a Nurse Practitioner in wound management and was instrumental in setting up the Skin Integrity Service at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. Kerrie has approximately 30 years’ experience in wound management and has worked primarily in tertiary hospitals in NSW and Qld.

Emergency Nurse Practitioner

Kylie has nearly 20 years of nursing experience and has worked across both the public and private domains throughout her career. She has worked in the perioperative environment, remote and regional centres, is a perioperative surgical assistant and Nurse Practitioner.

      Managing non-viable tissue with dressings.

      Hands-on Workshop: Investigating products for managing non-viable tissue

      The session will include is a hands-on workshop where groups will rotate around Presentation stands investigating products for managing non-viable tissue.

      Use your conference workbook to frame your research.

      Note: Afternoon tea will be served during this time.
