Unpicking the mysteries of wound management products

23 – 25 February 2022 | The Sunshine Coast | 17 CPD Hours

Conference Synopsis:

This conference explores the complex area of managing wounds. The conference will explore the different wound types, best practice management, and dressing selection for best healing outcomes.

Louise Webber

Masters of Nursing Science (Nursing Practioner), BA (Hons), RN

Louise has over 20 years’ experience in wound management established her own Private Practice (Wound Therapies) following completion of her Nurse Practitioner in 2014. She has worked across several public hospitals and Community Nurse Settings both in Australia and overseas.

She works collaboratively with several Aged Care Providers, private hospitals and Community Nursing Services and runs a Specialist wound clinic for a GP Practice north of Brisbane.

Louise was previously an Honorary Clinical Fellow for Australian Catholic University having participated in several research projects leading to publication. She is passionate about wound care and striving for best practice and has participated in several international working groups for Pressure Injuries and Leg ulcers.

She is a mum of two teenagers, loves the Sunny Coast lifestyle and attempting to play golf!

Kerrie Coleman

Nurse Practitioner Complex Wound Management, Skin Integrity Services, Critical Care & Clinical Support Services/Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital Metro North Hospital & Health Service

Kerrie is a Nurse Practitioner in wound management and was instrumental in setting up the Skin Integrity Service at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. Kerrie has approximately 30 years’ experience in wound management and has worked primarily in tertiary hospitals in NSW and Qld. 

She manages an outpatient wound clinic, provides inpatient consultations and is a resource for the Metro North Health Service District and across Queensland. Kerrie has been a guest lecturer for various universities on wound care as well as providing continuing education programs for the Metro North Health District.

In 2016 and 2018 Kerrie was awarded the Ian McFarlane Award for nursing excellence in clinical education and clinical practice.  In amongst all this Kerrie does manage to find time to spend with her family especially her two beautiful granddaughters and 4 month old grandson.
