SYnopsis

In this Conference we are going to explore the significance of advanced respiratory assessment by the Registered Nurse /Paramedic. We will examine the chest landmarks and demonstrate the auscultation technique. The general respiratory assessment of a deteriorating patient with respiratory compromise will be explained. We will also explore a variety of uncommon respiratory disorders which many of them are life-threatening.

Chest auscultation, interpretation of chest x-rays and interpretation of arterial blood gases will be explained in an easy-to-follow format with clinical hints and scenarios.

“The importance of expert nurses being able to interpret deterioration in ABG samples not only in the  critical care and ED but also the ward cannot be underestimated.”
