Synopsis
As Nurses (and other health professionals), we are expected just to carry on our work or cope, irrespective of the trauma we witness every day. In our personal lives, as the Nurse in the family, people look to us to take the lead in a family crisis and “fix it”.
In this short workshop we will examine two main concepts, the first being validating our own personal grief or challenging experiences. The second is your work with patients and your relationships with family and friends who have experienced trauma, bereavement, or grief – enhancing your counselling and communication techniques.
The skills you will learn at the workshop will be valuable to you in various challenging situations. This short workshop offers not just education but includes a supportive environment with caring and experienced facilitators to assist you to explore these difficult topics.
“Healthcare should be delivered by competent, knowledgeable individuals to ensure the best possible experience for the recipient of that care. Nursing is a fabulous profession – the backbone of the healthcare system. It is the knowledge and skill of the individual Nurse that will have the greatest influence on the happiness and health outcomes of each and every client.”

Amusements and Theme Parks
The Coast’s kid cred is already world-renowned – theme parks rise from the sand and sea. Jump into cute, cuddly and roaring wildlife encounters; worlds built entirely for those that bounce; and ice creameries serving up sugar highs from just about every corner.

The Gold Coast shopping scene is vast - from discount factory outlets to high-end designer boutiques and everything in between.
Who doesn't love a good dose of retail therapy?
Enjoy some fabulous food
The Coast is a place where night bites, hatted restaurants, street eats and breweries are all served with a side of alfresco. A place where five-star feasting means dusting the sand from your feet; where surfers swap their boards for a latte at sun-up and little ones break from beachside frolics to feast on epic spreads of fish and chips.

Happy attendees
A thoroughly well run course. It was great to have the handout and the blank book for notes. I am keen to access the library for the powerpoint text – I am hoping these include the content references. Anne and Sue have certainly worked hard to make this course so seamless. Well done.
If you struggle to be assertive this course gives you practical tools to become better able to stand up for yourself. Loved the practical side of learning what to do and say in difficult situations, both at home and work. A very helpful course for both personal and work life. Teaches your beneficial skills in how to stand up for yourself and be assertive in a very practical way.
This course is an absolute necessity to attend. Not only will you have resources to assist you in being able to have self preservation but you will be able to be of benefit to clients which are under our care. A definite course for all nurses in which ever field they are working in from EN’s to DON’s they should attend.
