Initiating a dialogue about mental well-being with someone in distress often leaves people feeling ill at ease and ill-equipped. Acquiring the ability to discuss mental health matters, along with the confidence and knowledge to aid those in need, is a valuable skill accessible to anyone within the community.
Upon successful course completion, participants have the opportunity to become Certified Mental Health First Aiders. After the course, they can undergo an online evaluation to achieve accreditation.
Synopsis:
Consistent evaluations reveal that MHFA training leads to enhanced understanding of mental illnesses, their treatment options, and effective first aid techniques, boosting individuals’ confidence in providing assistance to those with mental health issues. Furthermore, MHFA training is linked to a reduction in stigma surrounding mental health and an increase in the support offered.
Acquiring mental health first aid skills empowers individuals to aid those facing mental health challenges or crises, making a tangible impact within their communities and workplaces.
