Perioperative nursing is a fabulous career; however, it can be very challenging when dealing with long hours, ‘production pressure’ and ongoing demands to keep up with learnings about new procedures and technologies. All these stressors can see the passion in our hearts for nursing diminish which is most undesirable for not just ourselves, but our patients. Combining education with cruising is the most fabulous way to, not just learn and gain your yearly CPD points, but to recharge your emotional batteries and come away with your ‘passion’ for nursing’ reignited!
Perioperative nursing is not always taught in the undergraduate curricula; thus, the importance of post-registration education in this specialty cannot be overestimated. It will also provide valuable learning for surgical ward nurses (or any nurses who care for surgical patients) who want to have a better understanding of the surgical process to enhance their nursing care.
Suitable for both novice and experienced nurses, this conference will strengthen understanding of perioperative care, enhance clinical awareness and reinforce the critical role perioperative nurses play in safeguarding patients during surgery.
Learning will cover anaesthesia, intraoperative care, and Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) nursing topics. Whilst you may work in one specific area, it is vital to understand all facets of the perioperative patient journey as each phase impacts on the others. Please attend all sessions to ensure a full learning experience. You will come away educated and empowered and realise that perioperative nurses are really the most unique and talented speciality, who can make a HUGE difference to our patient care if we really try.
At this conference you will:

The Conference is delivered in two formats, reflecting the principles of adult learning. Live presentations take place in the Conference Room, supported by an online library that opens prior to the Conference commencement. The library is an essential component of the overall Conference program.
The library contains Conference material supplied by the presenter(s), which may include:
The research documents and recorded presentations form part of your Continuing Professional Development activities. These materials are made available before the Conference begins, allowing you to start your learning early.
If you prefer not to complete these activities beforehand, the library remains open for two weeks following the Conference. You may also choose to engage with the library content during the Conference itself, though you will need to purchase the ship’s internet package.

We’ve realised that many past customers still want to travel with us. We have created a customer classification called Non-Practising Nurse.
It is for Retired Nurses who want to travel with our group but no longer need CPD hours. They like to travel with like-minded people, people who get them because they have had similar experiences, and there is a shared connection that creates friendships quickly. Also, travelling as part of a group provides an extra level of support and safety.
The non-practicing registration is only available for our cruise conferences, as the study tours are all-inclusive.
Please Note: Conference registration does not include accommodation or travel costs.

This is a fabulous program – to secure your place at this Conference simply contact Education at Sea to find out about all the cabin options available.
Once you have paid your deposit, your registration is confirmed, and you can start planning your Conference getaway.

The Nurses for Nurses Network strongly recommends customers take out travel insurance at the time of registration for an event, to cover any unforeseen circumstances that may prevent them attending and thus incur any financial loss.

Sue has a fantastic presentation style, using language that we could all understand and also using real-world scenarios to underpin the concepts being taught.

The conference topics were very relevant and interesting. The presenter, Sue who was running the sessions was awesome. She was professional and interesting to listen too involving the audience. It was great to mix pleasure with learning and not to feel the pressure of attending a conference.

Sue was very confident, knowledgable, approachable and engaging. It was empowering to be able to glean relevant information to go on and feel confident in assisting mental health sufferers.

I always enjoy Sue Walkers presentations. She is very fabulous at including everyone. I always enjoy Nursing CPD presentations. I’ve been attending since 2011 and have never been disappointed. I look forward to my next adventure in learning and travelling.

Sue was excellent at delivering the contents across to the participants, she was engaging and encouraging it made time pass much to fast yet managed to incorporate all she wanted to deliver and encourage us to participate in I will be looking forward to my next conference with sue as a lecturer.
